Acupuncture & Naturopathy in Wetherby & Malton

Ancient Medicine for Modern Living

  • Acupuncture has a calming effect on the body, helps to improve circulation, reduce tension and allows our bodily functions that are not concerned with immediate survival, such as immunity, digestion, fertility, rest, recovery and repair to function more optimally.

Acupuncture has been shown to relieve pain by releasing endorphins, the body's natural pain-killing chemicals, and enhance the healing process.

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) harnesses the power of energy highways in the body known as meridians. The ancient texts describe the meridians and acupuncture points as geographical landmarks such as mountains, rivers and streams. The meridians are communication routes, transporting vital life force energy known as Qi, and nourishing the body as they flow. If this flow becomes blocked, it results in physical symptoms or dis-ease.

  • Acupuncture can help with mood regulation by reducing the stress response and cortisol, whilst simultaneously releasing vital feel-good endorphins.

In TCM there are seven emotions that affect the health of the major five internal organs. These emotions are namely: joy, anger, worry, pensiveness, sadness, fear and shock. These emotions we have are natural reactions to external environmental stimuli.

Excessive emotions disturb the Mind and Soul, altering the balance of the internal organs and the harmony of Qi (energy) and Blood, and can cause disease.

Some emotional release can occur during a treatment, and although it may be unexpected, it is generally a positive experience.

  • TCM is abundant in wisdom and knowledge of how to live in harmony with the world around us.

Spirit is the unique essence humans possess which allows us to manifest ourselves fully through our career, hobbies and relationships with authentic expression. It is how we use our creativity, motivation, intelligence and mind. It determines how we thrive in the world, how we connect with others, and navigate through our life experiences.

Spirit is said to house five aspects of our consciousness, each associated with one of the Five Elements. Treatment of the spirits can help the transformation of those who may have experienced or witnessed shock or trauma, suffered severe emotional, physical or mental abuse.

Kind words…

  • Molly G.

"I saw Lindsay for a bio-resonance health scan. Lindsay is very professional, friendly & enthusiastic about supporting others. The report she provided me with was extremely detailed and has helped to inform my direction moving forwards to better health. I would urge anyone to go for bio-resonance specifically if they want further clarity about their health, and I cannot recommend Lindsay highly enough!"

  • Aisha F.

"Lindsay has been treating my son, age 7 and we have been amazed at the progress he has made. Not only with his physical symptoms (the majority of which completely cleared soon after starting treatment) but also his emotional health and confidence which has grown massively since seeing Lindsay. He didn’t want to be needled and so Lindsay used a range of different techniques and made sure my son felt empowered with every step of his treatment. If you are looking for a paediatric acupuncturist, we can’t recommend Lindsay enough"

  • Aileen G.

Thank you Lindsay! One session and you have fixed me! Whatever I did to my coccyx you un-did with your needles, I honestly think you are incredible and would highly recommend xx

  • Katie N.

"Lindsay provided acupuncture for me prior to a medical procedure. She wasn’t just a great practitioner, more importantly she gave kind words and support, I really felt that she was in my corner. I definitely recommend her"

"I couldn't wait to tell you. I had my 1st physio session yesterday & she was blown away by the strength & range of movement & how well my ankle looked. She said it was amazing I was doing so well considering how nasty the fracture was. I was over the moon. I just wanted to share & say thanks so much for everything you've done so far!"
